Taekwondo
This engaging self-defense class is designed specifically for children focusing on building confidence, improving awareness, and teaching foundational environment. The program emphasizes three core pillars:
Awareness: Children learn how to recognize potentially unsafe situations, assess their surroundings, and understand personal boundaries. Through interactive games and role-playing, they develop a heightened sense of environmental awareness and learn how to identify and avoid risks before they escalate.
Mindfulness: Mindfulness techniques, such as breathing exercises and focus drills, help children remain calm under pressure and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. These exercises enhance emotional regulation, helping participants build resilience and confidence in challenging situations.
Martial Skills: Basic martial arts techniques, including safe escapes, blocking, and evasion are introduced in a fun, age-appropriate manner. Children practice simple, effective moves that emphasize defense over aggression, empowering them with tools to protect themselves if needed. By combining these elements, this class not only equips children with practical self-defense strategies but also fosters a sense of self-assurance and responsibility, ensuring they are better prepared to navigate the world with awareness and confidence.

Debt of Honor
Debt of Honor is a follow-up to Sword of Freedom and picks up where the Civil War left off, after Reconstruction. Mentors and students have the opportunity to study important conflicts such as the American Indian Wars and WWI and WWII through the broad lens of how they affected the countries or factions involved, as well as the human level that war is truly waged, with each soldier finding the courage to stand with other soldiers and fight. War also illuminates the problem of man’s inhumanity to man. Amidst the desolations of war, however, there are sparks of hope that humankind can rise above the lust for power and hatred that fuels war. Students will learn that perhaps the greatest way we can pay the debt of honor these soldiers gave us is by taking up the torch of goodness, by fighting courageously for freedom ourselves, and by lighting the way for those who follow us.
